I started as a complete beginner, just like you. I had doubts, fears, and questions constantly running through my mind: “Will I ever be able to achieve what successful web designers, dropshippers, digital creators, and entrepreneurs are doing online?”

It was 2014. I was a Computer Science student in Malaysia, passionate about building something for myself online. I wasn’t trapped in a 9-to-5 job, but I still knew I wanted more out of life.

I started freelancing and spent countless hours, sleepless nights, and endless days bidding on projects, only to fail repeatedly. But every rejection, every failed attempt, and every setback became part of the journey that shaped who I am today.

Despite failing, I never let myself give up, because deep down I knew this was not what I was born for. And if you are thinking about giving up too, then neither are you. For months, my mind was stuck between two questions:
Should I quit? Or should I keep trying?

I kept hoping that someone would trust me enough to hire me to design their website, even though I constantly feared they might never pay me after the work was done. Finally, I decided to stop waiting for opportunities and start creating them. That’s when I discovered Flippa, a marketplace where people buy and sell websites. At first, I didn’t fully believe it because it was completely new to me. But I was determined enough to build my first website within just a few days.

I never joined any academy to learn web design.
I never had a mentor.
Nobody guided me.

Everything I learned came from YouTube and countless hours of practice. I spent days and nights building my first website, which was focused on health-related articles. I found a free theme, researched content, and carefully published articles while giving proper credits and attribution. Finally, I listed the website on Flippa. The moment I received my first inquiry, something changed inside me. For the first time, I realized that my hard work actually had value that something I created could attract buyers from around the world.

It took nearly a month to find a buyer, and eventually, the website sold for just $80. But the amount was never the point. What mattered was that it was the first website I had ever built and someone was willing to pay for it. That single sale changed my mindset forever.

The very next day, I started building another project, this time a gaming-related website using HTML and CSS. I worked on it with even more confidence and passion, and eventually, it sold for nearly $250.
That was only the beginning.

At that time, I was still a complete beginner.

I had fears.
I had doubts.
I was confused.
I had no roadmap.

But today, I can confidently say this:
If I can go from making $80/month to over $50,000/month, then you can do it too.

And if you are a beginner right now, ask yourself:

1. What exactly is stopping you from trying?
2. Why do you believe successful people have extraordinary skills that you can never learn?
3. Why do you think you are stuck in the 9–5 cycle forever?
4. Why do you assume something won’t work before even giving it a chance?
5. Why wait for someone else to change your life when you have the power to change it yourself?

Your current situation is not your final destination. Everyone starts as a beginner. The only difference is that some people decide to start and never stop.
